Aurangabad/Mumbai, Sept. 10 -- Maharashtra Water Resources Minister Jayant Patil on Thursday made a veiled curt remark on actress Kangana Ranaut's controversial tweet regarding Mumbai as well as the city police.

Minister Patil, who is also the State NCP chief, told, "Mumbai and Maharashtra have set an example for the country in terms of women's safety and tolerance. However, some people are not grateful for it, it is very painful."

Terming the statement made by the 'Queen' actress as "publicity stunt", he asserted, "It is highly reprehensible to compare this safe city, the police force here, with Pakistan and PoK. Our mother Mumbai embraces everyone without discrimination."
