Jammu, June 5 -- To connect people with environment and make them aware of saving nature, Jammu Tourism Department on Wednesday marked the World Environment Day with a 'Zero Pollution Event' along scenic Mansar Lake in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The whole event was based on the theme of zero pollution emission and emphasis on minimum carbon footprints.

In order to encourage environment friendly practices the participants were ferried from Jammu in electric buses hired from J&K State Road Transport Corporation.

A Lake walk was organised which was flagged off by OP Bhagat, Director Tourism, Jammu in the presence of OP Sharma Vidyarthi, Director State Forest Research Institute.
