Kanpur, July 10 -- In a dramatic turn of events, Uttar Pradesh's most wanted gangster Vikas Dubey, who was on Thursday apprehended at Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain, was on Friday killed in an encounter with STF when he tried to flee from the police custody.
Police here said that the incident occured at Bhauti police station on the National Highway 2 when Vikas was being brought by STF from Ujjjain, where he was arrested on Thursday .
According to sources, Vikas tried to escape after the vehicle in which he was travelling turned turtle. Security personnel took the step to fire on him when Vikas tried to snatch firearms from them.
