Kanpur, July 10 -- In a dramatic turn of events, Uttar Pradesh's most wanted gangster Vikas Dubey, who was on Thursday apprehended at Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain, was on Friday killed in an encounter with STF when he tried to flee from the police custody, Inspector General of police (IG) Mohit Agarwal and SSP Dinesh P confirmed.
Police here said that the incident occurred at Bhauti police station on the National Highway 2 when Vikas was being brought by STF from Ujjjain. Two STF sleuths were also injured in the encounter which occurred at around 0630 hours when the vehicle in which they were travelling from Ujjain overturned due to heavy rains .
