Bokaro, July 23 -- A major fire broke out on Friday inside SAIL's Bokaro Steel Plant however
much to the respite of the authorities no casualties were reported.
Plant said that fire had broke out in blast furnace 2 of the plant as ladle of a torpedo which
was carrying hot metal inside the blast furnace got punctured due to which hot metal at 1300
degrees got leaked of the torpedo resulting in the fire.
It took hard work of half a dozen fire tenders to douse the flames. However an official
estimate of the losses is yet to be made by the plant management.
Senior officials of the plant have so far remained tight lipped over the issue.
