Eid-al-adha celebrated with religious fervour by Muslims in UT

Puducherry, Aug. 1 -- Eid-al-adha was celebrated with religious fervour by the Muslims in the Union Territory.

With the government permitting niskar inside the mosques, special "Niskars" were held in many mosques with faithful wearing masks and adopting social distancing.

The faithful brought their Niskar mat and they were allowed into the mosques after sanitizing their hands and testing their temperature.

Only 150 persons were allowed at a time for the Niskar to ensure social distancing and others will have to wait outside as the doors will be locked.

After the first batch finished their Niskar, the second batch was allowed in.
