Agartala, March 15 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) today reiterated
the political parties of Tripura to comply with the model code of conducts have
been in force immediately after the announcement of poll schedule while asked
the returning officers to take steps for free and fair elections to be held on
April 11 and April 18.
The commission however, advised the state election machinery to deploy the
security forces considering the situation at micro level and also to act on any
complaint related to election on real time basis to avoid escalation of tension.
