Chennai, Dec. 8 -- The Deep Depression over the Bay has intensified into
Cyclonic Storm 'Mandous' and would move west-northwestwards and cross
the North Tamil Nadu, Pududhcerry and adjoining South Andhra Pradesh coast
between Puducherry and Sriharikota by midnight tomorrow.
Met office sources today said the Cyclonic storm"Mandous" pronounced as
"Man-Dous" over Southwest Bay of Bengal moved nearly west-northwestwards
with a speed of six kmph during the past six hours and lay centered over
Southwest Bay of Bengal about 340 km east-northeast of Trincomalee (Sri
Lanka), 470 km east-southeast of Jaffna (Sri Lanka), 530 km east-southeast
of Karaikal and about 620 km southeast of Chennai.
