Moscow, Aug. 1 -- Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko on Saturday said that clinical trials of a COVID-19 vaccine, developed by the Gamaleya Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, have been completed.

"The vaccine against Coronavirus infection, developed by the Gamaleya Institute, has completed clinical trials," Mr Murashko said, adding that paperwork is underway for it's registration.

He noted that the documents for vaccine registration is being prepared.

According to Mr Murashko, ''We expect at least two more applications in the next one and a half to two months for permission to conduct clinical trials.''

The Health Ministry plans a mass vaccination campaign against the Coronavirus for October, he said.
