Darjeeling, Nov. 18 -- BJP MP representing Darjeeling Lok Sabha seat Raju Bista today said he had raised the demand for a permanent solution to the long pending demands of the people of Darjeeling Hills, Terai and Dooars in north Bengal.

" I explained to the Parliament that the people of Darjeeling Hills, Terai, and Dooars have a long-pending political demand which erupted as the Gorkhaland statehood movement of 1986-88, 2013-14, and again in 2017," Mr Bista said in a statement here. The first time MP from Darjeeling said he raised the demand under " Matters of Urgent Public Importance (Rule 377) in the Parliament."
