Lucknow, May 30 -- Uttar Pradesh government has said during the 38 month tenure of the Yogi Adityanath government the sugar mills have cleared payment of Rs 98,382 crore to the sugar cane farmers.
State sugarcane minister Suresh Rana said here on Saturday that this amount is higher than the total payment made to the sugarcane farmers during the five year tenure of the previous Akhilesh Yadav led Samajwadi party regime. The minister said for the present cane crushing season which is at the fag end, the sugar mills have so far paid Rs 19,328 crore to the farmers.
