Baku/Yerevan, Oct. 18 -- The ceasefire deal between Armenia and Azerbaijan was broken even before the ink on the deal could dry as both the countries accused each other of violating a humanitarian ceasefire in the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh on Sunday.

Both the sides had agreed to a truce which was to start at midnight local time (20:00 GMT Saturday).

But an Armenian defence ministry spokeswoman said Azerbaijan broke the ceasefire after just four minutes later by firing artillery shells and rockets towards them, a BBC report said.

Azerbaijan on the other hand accused Armenia of breaking the truce just after two minutes of signing the peace deal.
