Srinagar, July 20 -- The yatra to holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas was resumed from shortest Baltal track after remaining suspended on Friday due to slippery conditions following rain.

The pilgrimage continued normally from the traditional Pahalgam track.

Meanwhile, a fresh batch of 4094 pilgrims on Saturday left for the Amarnath Cave Shrine amid "Bam Bam Bhole" chants and rains from Yatri Niwas, Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu.

"We have resumed yatra from Baltal following improvement in the weather. On Saturday a batch of 5,300 pilgrims, including women, children and sadhus, left Baltal base camp for the holy cave," he said.
