Agartala, April 8 -- A day after holding the election to the delegation of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC), opposition Tipra Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) of royal scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarman met state election commissioner M L Dey last evening and demanded fresh poll in 70 booths.
Pradyot raised allegations of large scale violence, booth capturing and prevention of voters from casting against the ruling BJP and submitted some documents and proofs in favour of his claim but the commission was not satisfied with the allegations. However, assured to take all steps to ensure violence-free counting on April 10 next.
