Mazar-E-Sharif, Jan. 11 -- A key commander of Taliban was among six militants killed in Chamtal district of northern Balkh province on Thursday night, Afghanistan Army confirmed on Friday. According to Afghanistan Army Spokesman in the northern region Abdul Hadi Jamal, the militant was identified as Mawlawi Badar, a notorious commander, who had organised subversive activities against the government in Balkh province. His physical elimination could be a major blow to Taliban fighters in Balkh and neighbouring Jawzjan and Sari Pul provinces, said Mr Jamal.
