Panaji, April 24 -- Two Japanese P 3C Long Range Maritime Reconnaissance aircraft arrived in Goa on April 23, 2019, to participate in a joint exercise with Indian Navy.

According to a statement here on Wednesday, the aircraft landed at Navy's Dabolim Airport at Vasco. The 34 members detachment is commanded by Commander Shinji Akamatsu of Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force. These aircraft are involved in Anti-Piracy Patrol at Gulf of Aden in the Arabian Sea.

This is third year in a row, that the Japanese aircraft detachment have conducted joint exercise with Indian Navy off Goa. In May 2018, two P-1 aircraft conducted exercise with Indian Navy. Further two P3C Orion aircraft had conducted exercise with Indian Navy in October 2017. The...
