Dhaka, Aug. 28 -- The High Court on Wednesday ordered the authorities concerned to take effective measures to control aedes mosquitoes, responsible for spreading dengue.

Justice Tariq ul Hakim and Justice Md Shohrowardi's bench also ordered to conduct large scape drives to spread medicine and destroy the breeding grounds of aedes.

The court asked the authorities concerned to file a report on the progress on October 16.

Barrister Toufique Inam Tipu represented Dhaka North City Corporation while Deputy Attorney General Barrister Mainul Hasan represented the state.

On Monday, the court said an order would be issued on Wednesday on forming a committee to find out those responsible for failure to exterminate aedes.
