Dhaka, Oct. 10 -- Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday formally inaugurated two projects -- the Padma (Jashaldia) Water Treatment Plant (Phase-1) and the Well Field Construction Project at Tetulzhora-Bhakurta of Savar Upazilla Phase-I -- to ensure a steady supply of drinking water for the residents of the capital.
Six hundred million litres of water will be supplied to Dhaka city every day through the two projects of Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (Dwasa).
The Prime Minister digitally opened the projects from Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital.
Besides, she laid the foundation stone of construction of Gandharbpur Water Treatment Plant at Rupganj under Dhaka Environmentally Sustainable Water Supply Project.
