Dhaka, May 30 -- Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Thursday said that there will be no public suffering during Eid journeys this year.

"There'll be no problem. If there is any problem, then it'll be because of lack of discipline of drivers," he told a pre-Eid preparation meeting of Roads and Highways Department in Tejgaon.

He said that Bangladesh Road Transport Authority and law enforcement agencies are working to bring back discipline on the road.

After the inauguration of the second Meghna and Gumti bridges, it now takes three and half to four hours to reach Chattogram. Besides, traffic congestion on Dhaka-Tangail Highway has also come down, said Quader.
