Dhaka, May 12 -- The High Court on Sunday granted bail to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's adviser Abdus Salam in six cases filed on sabotage charges.

A bench of Justice Md. Rezaul Haque and Justice Zafar Ahmed passed the order.

Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon and Barrister Shakib Mahbub stood for Abdus Salam.

The cases were filed under Paltan Police Station before the national election in 2018, said Shakib Mahbub.

After expiry of Salam's interim bail granted previously by the HC, Salam surrendered before the lower court on April 28 and was sent to jail, he said.

With the fresh order there is no bar to release Salam from the jail, he added.
