Dhaka, Aug. 7 -- Bangladesh and India will hold secretary-level talks here on Thursday to discuss water-related issues between the two countries.

Indian water resources secretary Upendra Prasad Singh will lead a four-member delegation while his Bangladesh counterpart Kabir Bin Anwar will lead an eight-member Bangladesh delegation, an official told UNB.

The meeting will begin at state guesthouse Meghna at 11am and a media briefing will take place at 5:30pm.

Both sides are likely to discuss ways to go for a joint study to ensure the best use of Ganges water. Bangladesh and India share a total of 54 transboundary rivers.
