India, Dec. 18 -- Few hotel debuts have carried the symbolic weight of the Waldorf Astoria New York. After eight years behind scaffolding, the 1931 Art Deco icon revealed its massive renovation in July, ready to welcome a new generation of visitors to its Park Avenue address in Midtown Manhattan.
The $2 billion overhaul included 375 new hotel rooms that balance modern luxury with Art Deco heritage, an ultra-luxurious Empire Suite, new restaurants, and a fully restored ballroom and famous clock. The only thing missing was a spa - until now.
