India, April 22 -- Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) will suspend operations on both its runways for six hours on May 8, 2025, to perform essential pre-monsoon maintenance. The closure, scheduled from 11 am to 5 pm, is part of the airport's annual monsoon contingency programme to preserve runway integrity and ensure operational safety when it is pouring down later in the year.
The temporary maintenance closure of Mumbai Airport's primary and secondary runways is not expected to affect passenger travel or flight schedules. A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) was issued six months in advance, allowing airlines and stakeholders sufficient time to reconfigure their schedules.
