India, Oct. 28 -- Cyclone Montha, which intensified into a Severe Cyclonic Storm on the morning of October 27, 2025, has triggered heavy to very heavy rainfall and strong winds across several states, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The cyclone is also expected to bring rough sea conditions along India's eastern coast, including Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, and parts of West Bengal.

Cyclone Montha is currently expected to make landfall along the Andhra Pradesh coast between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam, near Kakinada, on the evening or night of October 28, with maximum sustained winds of 90-100 km/h and gusts up to 110 km/h.
