India, Jan. 29 -- Niagara Falls State Park, the oldest state park in the U.S., is quietly expanding-absorbing two neighboring state parks and adding new connecting trails and signage.

With the change, Niagara Falls State Park will incorporate Whirlpool State Park and Devil's Hole State Park to the north. The two parks will become "zones" within Niagara Falls State Park and will be connected by two new miles of trails that run along the scenic Gorge corridor.

The new Niagara Falls State Park will stretch continuously from the Niagara Scenic Parkway in the south to the Niagara Power Vista Visitor's Center in the north.
