India, April 1 -- A few years ago, Italian houses selling for just one euro (INR 92.54) were all the rage. And they were snapped up like hotcakes, with locals and expats moving in to revitalise entire communities. And now, Trentino in northern Italy, is getting in on the action, offering to pay people about EUR 100,000 (INR 9,253,700) to relocate there. But, naturally, there are some major caveats.
As CNN reported, the region is open to paying both residents of Italy and Italians living abroad to move to the area and renovate an abandoned home, providing grants of up to EUR 80,000 (INR 7,402,960) for the renovation and up to EUR 20,000 (INR 1,850,740) for purchasing the property.
