India, Feb. 4 -- The very first thing you notice about the Aranyani Pavilion is its Golgi apparatus-like shape. It is a far cry from the Mughal or, more broadly, Indo-Islamic architecture that visitors to Sunder Nursery are accustomed to seeing. Envisioned as a walkthrough spiral installation, the pavilion takes inspiration from the spatial logic of India's sacred groves, guiding visitors through shifting light, texture and sound towards a central shrine anchored by a stone monolith.

Titled Sacred Nature, it is the organisation's first annual commission, conceptualised by founder and conservation scientist Tara Lal, and designed in collaboration with T__M.space, an architectural studio established by Tanil Raif and Mario Serrano Puche. B...
