India, May 15 -- Changi Airport has officially begun the Terminal 5 expansion, with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong breaking ground on the project on May 14, 2025. The upcoming mega-terminal has been in discussion for decades to accommodate the surge in air passenger traffic in the Asia-Pacific region. Once it is ready, Singapore Airlines and the budget Scoot will consolidate their operations under Terminal 5.
