India, June 6 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Link (USBRL), a 272-kilometre engineering marvel that connects the Kashmir Valley to the rest of India via an all-weather railway corridor. The USBRL traverses rugged Himalayan terrain, connecting 36 tunnels across 119 kilometres and 943 bridges, including the Chenab Bridge and the Anji Khad Bridge. As part of the inauguration on June 6, 2025, the PM also flagged off the much-anticipated services of two pairs of Vande Bharat Express trains linking Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SVDK) to Srinagar (SINA), which will begin regular operations on June 7, 2025.
