India, June 30 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for several states across India, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall on June 30, with the wet spell expected to continue through the week. The southwest monsoon arrived early this year, on June 29, well ahead of its usual schedule of July 8, 2025. As a result, several states are already grappling with intense rainfall.
