India, April 2 -- A 5.2-magnitude "earthquake swarm" and volcanic eruption closed a popular tourist destination in Iceland and evacuated several communities around the country's Reykjanes Peninsula. The initial earthquake was followed by subsequent quakes of 4.9 and 4.6 near Grindavik and Vogar, respectively, according to USGS data.

At the time of publication, there are no air travel impacts for Keflavik Airport (KEF), which is on the Reykjanes Peninsula and is less than 30 miles (48 kilometre) from Grindavik.
