India, Dec. 22 -- The quaint little town of Lancaster, New Hampshire, is living proof that sometimes good things really do come in small packages.

When the first U.S. census was taken in 1790, it was recorded that the town had a population of just 161 residents. Today, that number has multiplied to 3,212, but Lancaster is nonetheless a quiet, idyllic place for respite.
