India, June 19 -- Despite the ongoing rainy season in Japan, sweltering temperatures have triggered heatstroke alerts and travel advisories across several regions. In Tokyo, dozens of people have sought emergency medical care as temperatures soar to 35 C. The current heatwave, driven by a high-pressure system over eastern and northern Japan, is expected to persist until June 20, 2025.
