India, Sept. 24 -- Marking a significant milestone in the strategic development of infrastructure in the Union Territory, the Hanle-Chumar Road in eastern Ladakh has opened to the public. The 91-km all-weather road, inaugurated by the Indian Army on September 23, 2025, connects Hanle village to the border village of Chumar in Ladakh. The new road will enhance India's defence capabilities, in addition to boosting regional development.
