India, Feb. 13 -- Saudi Arabia has announced sweeping changes to its Hajj rules and visa policies for several countries, including India, to ensure a seamless experience throughout the pilgrimage. A notable change is the ban on children participating in the Hajj pilgrimage. The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah cited concerns about the safety and well-being of children amidst the annual overcrowding at holy sites. This decision is designed to minimise potential risks for younger pilgrims. Furthermore, the Ministry has prioritised first-time pilgrims for the 2025 pilgrimage to provide wider access to the Hajj experience, allowing more people to undertake this significant religious journey at least once in their lifetime.
