India, March 3 -- The Delhi government has announced plans to launch an eco-friendly cruise service along the Yamuna to boost river tourism in India. The plan is to develop a six-kilometre stretch - from the Wazirabad barrage (Sonia Vihar) to Jagatpur (Shani temple) - to offer a new avenue for tourism.

The project is a joint effort involving multiple agencies, including the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), the Delhi Jal Board (DJB), and the irrigation and flood control department. The Delhi Tourism and Transport Development Corporation (DTTDC) will oversee the hiring of an operator, while the IWAI and DDA will handle execution.
