India, April 8 -- Toy capsule vending machines have become a popular fixture throughout Japan, and they are found in places like shopping malls, convenience stores, train stations, and gaming arcades. These machines are known as gachapon in Japan, a Bandai trademark. Their catchy name, "gachapon", is derived from two sounds: "gacha", which represents the noise of turning the crank of the knob, and "pon", which describes the sound of the capsule dropping out.

Each capsule costs between JPY 100 and 500 yen (approximately INR 57 to 285) and contains a surprise, such as anime characters, miniature food, tiny furniture, kawaii keychains, and nostalgic everyday objects from Japan. The thrill of the unknown makes gachapon incredibly popular in...
