India, Jan. 28 -- A plane carrying Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar crashed while attempting to land at Baramati Airport early today, creating shock and concern across the region. The aircraft was arriving from Mumbai for scheduled political events of Ajit Pawar when it met with the accident during its landing approach. Initial reports say the crash happened due to an unexpected problem as the aircraft neared the runway.

Eyewitnesses at the airport described a sudden jolt as the plane touched down before veering off the runway. Emergency responders rushed to the scene immediately after the crash was reported.
