SRINAGAR, Sept. 22 -- Security forces on Saturday carried out a controlled explosion to neutralise a suspicious object discovered near the banks of Srinagar's Dal Lake, one of the city's busiest tourist destinations.
Officials confirmed that during routine surveillance and cleaning operations along the lakefront, security personnel spotted a white, ball-like object lying unattended near the pedestrian stretch. Given the sensitive nature of the area, police quickly cordoned off the surroundings, evacuating locals and tourists as a precautionary measure.
