India, Jan. 6 -- Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) chairperson Sonia Gandhi was on Monday night admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital here after she complained of respiratory discomfort.
She has been diagnosed with bronchial asthma.
The hospital in a statement said that Sonia Gandhi was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital at around 10:00 p.m. yesterday.
According to Dr. Ajay Swaroop, Chairman, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, she was experiencing respiratory discomfort, and upon medical examination, it was found that her "bronchial asthma had been mildly exacerbated due to the combined effects of cold weather and pollution".
"As a precautionary measure, she was admitted for further observation and treatment," Dr Swaroop said.
