India, Jan. 15 -- Beijing (PAMedia/dpa) - People who are trying to stop smoking could benefit from using a mobile phone app to assist their quit attempt, a study has found. Researchers found that apps designed to help smoking cessation are particularly effective when used alongside stop smoking medication. But even when used as a single tool they can be effective as a quit aid, the study suggests. Academics from China examined data from all studies ascertaining the effectiveness of stop smoking apps. The new review pooled the information from 31 studies involving 12,800 people.
