India, Nov. 23 -- Addressing the opening session of the G20 Summit in South Africa-the first time the grouping had convened on the African continent-Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a forceful case for reimagining global development models, arguing that existing frameworks have failed to ensure equitable growth and have instead accelerated environmental degradation.
Speaking on the theme "Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth Leaving No One Behind", PM Modi said that while the G20 had historically shaped global finance and economic trajectories, its current paradigms deprived large sections of the global population of opportunities and resources-a reality most starkly visible in developing regions, particularly Africa.
