India, Jan. 11 -- The Opposition has ramped up the issue of "vote chori" (voter manipulation) in Assam ahead of the Assam Elections 2026. The opposition, led by the Congress party, along with regional parties such as Raijor Dal and Assam Jatiya Parishad, has all evoked the issue of voter manipulation by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The issue was primarily raised by Raijor Dal Supremo Akhil Gogoi, who has alleged that during a BJP meeting which was done in video conference, the BJP President Dilip Saikia had talked about manipulating voters.
