Srinagar, Aug. 15 -- Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, hoisted the National Flag at Raj Bhavan in Srinagar on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day. Extending heartfelt greetings to the people, the LG paid tribute to the freedom fighters and brave personnel of the Army, Police, and CAPFs who laid down their lives for the nation.

He also expressed deep condolences to the victims of the tragic cloudburst in Chashoti, Kishtwar, and assured that relief operations were underway on a war footing.

In his address, the Lieutenant Governor called for collective resolve to ensure no individual or village is left behind in Jammu and Kashmir's journey of peace and development.
