Srinagar, July 1 -- In a significant move aimed at delivering justice to the families of terror victims in Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday chaired a high-level meeting and issued firm directives to district and police authorities.
Taking strong note of long-ignored cases, LG Sinha instructed Deputy Commissioners and SSPs to reopen terror cases that were "deliberately buried" in the past, ensure that FIRs are registered, and provide employment to the next of kin (NoKs) of victims on priority.
"Justice cannot be denied to the families who lost their loved ones to Pakistan-backed terrorism," the LG said, asserting that those responsible for such deliberate inaction will also be held accountable.
