Srinagar, July 21 -- In a major boost to local sports and youth engagement, the Indian Army has organised a cricket tournament in Kashmir Valley named the Chinar Premier League (CPL) modeled on the lines of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The tournament aims to promote sportsmanship, unity, and peace among youth from different districts of the Valley. Multiple local teams are participating, and matches are being held at various locations with enthusiastic public response.

Officials said the CPL not only provides a platform for young talent but also strengthens the bond between the army and local communities.
