India, Oct. 20 -- Security forces on Monday foiled a possible terror attempt after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was detected and safely destroyed in the Heff area of south Kashmir's Shopian district.
Officials said the explosive device was discovered by patrolling security personnel during a routine sweep in the area. Upon detection, authorities immediately suspended vehicular traffic along the adjoining road to ensure the safety of civilians and personnel in the vicinity.
A Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was rushed to the spot and carried out a controlled detonation following all safety protocols. The swift and coordinated response ensured that the device was neutralized without causing any injuries or damage to property.
