The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has triggered national outrage and renewed scrutiny of aggressive immigration enforcement tactics in the United States.

Elvis Joel Tipan-Echeverria and his daughter, Chloe Renata Tipan Villacis, were taken into custody while returning home.
