India, Jan. 21 -- IAF Trainer Aircraft Crashes: An Indian Air Force (IAF) trainer aircraft crashed into a pond during a routine training flight inPrayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday. Emergency teams rushed to the scene near Air Force Station Bamrauli to secure the area.
Officials confirmed that both pilots on board were rescued safely.
People near the site reported that the small propeller-driven aircraft seemed to lose control before plunging into the water. Thick black smoke was seen rising from the crash site. Local residents rushed to help until National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) divers and fire tenders arrived to manage the situation.
