New Delhi, May 1 -- Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday, May 1, inaugurated a statue and officially renamed a road in Delhi's Kailash Colony to 'Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma Marg' in honour of the Bodo leader. The event marked the 35th death anniversary of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma and was organized to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of the Bodo community at the national level. Notably, this marks the second instance of a road in New Delhi being named after a prominent Assamese personality-preceded by a road named after Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi.
